The local church is charged with the task of taking the gospel to all nations (Mt. 28:18-20; Acts 1:8). At Christ is King we take that charge very seriously. The gospel is the power of God for salvation and is the means by which God saves the elect (Rom. 1:16; 10:17; 1 Cor. 1:21). Those who die without Christ will perish and their only hope is the gospel. Therefore, we must take the gospel to our neighbors.

We carry out this task in a multiplicity of ways. First of all, through faithful expository preaching and teaching from the pulpit. As the word of God is read, taught, ministered, and proclaimed each Lord’s day the gospel is heard, the hearers are called to examine themselves, and the lost are called to repent and believe in Christ. As a church we also engage in outreach at the mall on the first Sunday of the month after service. Each Wednesday our pastor and those who desire to tag along engage in outreach at local college campuses, door-to-door, or at the local abortion clinic. And on Friday nights we head downtown to Armory Square for a time of outreach. Our outreaches consist of distributing Bibles and gospel tracts, open-air preaching, and gospel conversations.

In addition to these planned outreaches, we also seek to be faithful to proclaim the gospel to our family members, our neighbors, our friends, our co-workers, our class-mates, and those strangers the Lord brings into our lives on a daily basis. In other words, we seek to cultivate a lifestyle of evangelism. A good way to do that is by having gospel tracts on you at all times. Then you can give them out at restaurants with the tip, or lay them down at gas stations, the Doctors office, and so forth. And of course, gospel tracts often open the door for gospel conversations. As a church we will gladly supply you with some sound gospel tracts to equip you to reach the lost with the gospel.

We also desire to reach the nations with the gospel and not just our local community. We plan to do this in a number of ways. First, all of our sermons are recorded and placed on Sermon Audio. People from all over the world have access to our sermons and are thus supplied with sound teaching. Secondly, as a church we seek to discover, train, equip, and send men out as evangelists, missionaries, and church planters. And we also engage in short term missions from time to time, both locally and abroad. If you would like to get involved in the outreach ministry of our church just contact our pastor and let him know.
