Christians are called to serve. As Paul told the Galatians, “through love serve one another” (Gal. 5:13). In fact, every Christian is a minister. The word minister means servant and every Christian is called to ministry. The leaders of the church are not to do all the ministry by themselves. Instead, they are to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Eph. 4:11-12). All Christians are called to ministry. We are all given spiritual gifts and called to use our gifts to serve one another and build up the body.

At Christ is King our desire is that every member would be a faithful servant of Jesus Christ. There is no place for pew warmers. No one is to be sitting on the bench. We are all enlisted soldiers called to the ministry. And there are a variety of ways for you to serve. Men who are in good standing with the church can serve by reading Scripture during the service. You can serve by bringing a dish to our monthly fellowship meal. You can serve by visiting those who are sick. You can serve through evangelism and outreach, discipling others, meeting needs, and so forth. Seek to discover the ways the Lord has gifted you that you might effectively serve Christ and His church.
